Novasen 650 mg EC Tablets (pack size: 100)


This medicine is used to treat symptoms of certain types of arthritis, mild-to-moderate pain, and fever. It may also be used to reduce the risk of blood clots.

Dosage/Directions for use

Adults: The dose depends on the reason the medicine is being used. It is usually taken every 4 to 6 hours, to a maximum dose of 4,000 mg (no more than six 650 mg tablets) per day for pain and fever, and a maximum dose of 6,000 mg (no more than nine 650 mg tablets) per day for arthritis. Take it with food or milk.
Children: Do not give this medicine to a child unless your doctor recommends it.


Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you have or have had stomach ulcers, liver or kidney problems, asthma, or bleeding problems, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or intend to become pregnant. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or other related medicines of the NSAID group such as diclofenac, diflunisal, flurbiprofen, ibuprofen, indomethacin, ketoprofen, mefenamic acid, piroxicam, sulindac, or tiaprofenic acid. This medicine can cause drowsiness, so avoid driving or activities requiring alertness when the medicine affects you this way. This medicine may interact with other medicines. If you are taking any other medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking Novasen EC tablets. Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

Each caplet contains: Acetylsalicylic acid 650 mg.
Non-medicinal ingredients in alphabetical order: Colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, FD&C Yellow #6, gelatin, lactose monohydrate, maltodextrin, methacrylic acid, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized starch, sodium hydroxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc, titanium dioxide, and triethyl citrate.
